JAVA, INDONESIA 2018

Exploring Java, Land of Fire

In 2018, I embarked on an exciting journey to Java, one of Indonesia's main islands. After a brief stay in Jakarta, I began my adventure at the spectacular Bromo Volcano.
Bromo, part of the Tengger Semeru National Park, is renowned for its stunning sunrise views and the otherworldly landscape of its caldera, creating an unforgettable photographic opportunity. From there, I traveled to the town of Probolinggo and then to the Ijen Volcano. Ijen is famous for its sulphur mine and the mesmerizing blue flames that emerge from the volcano at night, caused by the combustion of sulfuric gases. The trek to Ijen's crater also offers the unique experience of witnessing miners extracting sulphur in the early morning light, set against the backdrop of a stunning turquoise crater lake. This trip through Java's volcanic landscapes provided incredible experiences and stunning views, capturing the diverse and dynamic essence of the island.
